Stephanie Lund is the Impact Academy Program Director at DFI. In her role, she leads the design and delivery of leadership development experiences for teacher preparation leaders.
Prior to joining DFI, Stephanie served in leadership roles at several national technical assistance centers, where she partnered with educator preparation programs, school districts, and state agencies to strengthen teacher preparation through strategic technical assistance and systems-level improvement. Across these roles, she designed and facilitated professional learning, coached institutional leaders, led large-scale improvement initiatives, and developed evidence-based supports focused on clinical practice, instructional quality, coaching, and sustainable organizational change.
Stephanie currently lives in Parker, Colorado with her wife and twin boys.
What were you like as a student?
I always had my nose in a book. I was the student reading while walking between classes (probably not the safest habit!) or trying to sneak a few pages under my desk whenever I could. Outside of class, though, I loved being involved in after-school clubs. Fun fact: I was the editor-in-chief of my high school newspaper, which combined my love of reading, writing, and working with others.
What’s the best thing about working at DFI?
Definitely the people. They're incredibly knowledgeable and deeply passionate about improving educator preparation, but they're also down-to-earth, genuine, and fun to work with. It's the kind of team where you're constantly learning from one another while feeling supported along the way.
What's a local place or activity you would want DFI colleagues and/or program partners to experience if they came to your town?
Definitely head to Breckenridge for the day. It's an easy drive from Denver and has everything I love about Colorado: beautiful mountain views, great hiking, charming local shops and restaurants, and (in my opinion!) some of the best mountain-town vibes. It's one of my family's favorite places to spend time together.
