Griselda is the Senior Manager of Events and Administration. She leads logistics for virtual and in person events to ensure seamless participant experience by making sure they have everything they need to fully participate. She also works closely with program directors to ensure we are sustainable and good stewards of our resources.
Prior to joining DFI, she served the students furthest from opportunity in the Austin area by coordinating districtwide events that ensured all students had access to community resources, ensured parents had language access to engage in their education and participate in district events, and supported the community engagement and communications teams with initiatives.
Griselda currently lives in Kyle, TX with her 19 yr old daughter. She enjoys spending time with family during Sunday movie and dinners, adding to her book collection, and most recently slowly rebuilding her plant collection.
What’s a piece of advice you’d give to aspiring or new teachers?
You might feel overwhelmed or nervous on your first day, but know that with the right tools you can achieve anything and your work will change lives. Thanks for your love of teaching!
As a fully remote organization, DFI team members work from home. Describe your dream home office/desk.
My dream office would have a full wall-to-wall bookcase with plenty of space for me to fill and a full wall window that overlooked a sunroon with lots of plants.
What’s the best thing about working at DFI?
Our leadership and team is very supportive of each team member. It's refreshing to work in a space where everyone cheers you professionally and personally, is committed to the vision and mission, and believes that every child deserves a well-prepared teacher at the core of what we do.
